India At UN: Before 193 nations at the United Nations, India demonstrated to the world that standing against terrorism not only means exposing Pakistan but also securing the future of Afghanistan.
India delivered a stern message to the Taliban, stating clearly that Afghan soil, under no circumstances, can become a safe haven for terrorist organizations like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Al-Qaeda, or ISIS. In essence, India explicitly warned the Taliban that if they harbor terrorists, India would not remain silent. This is not merely a diplomatic statement but a significant part of India’s firm strategy.
In this context, the most crucial aspect emerged when Afghanistan strongly condemned the Pahalgam terrorist attack of April 22, 2025. Its impact was not limited to Jammu and Kashmir. This was, in fact, a diplomatic stance that clearly showed the world that even under Taliban rule, Afghanistan understands India’s pain regarding Kashmir.
India immediately welcomed this condemnation and stated at the United Nations that if Afghanistan stands with India, India is also ready to provide all possible assistance to Afghanistan.
This implies, on one hand, the Taliban’s condemnation on the Kashmir issue, and on the other, extending a helping hand to the Afghan people. After the recent earthquake in Afghanistan, India was among the first to send 1,000 tents and 15 tons of food supplies. Additionally, aid such as medicines, blankets, generators, and 50,000 tons of wheat were regularly provided. Furthermore, India offered scholarships worth 2,000 rupees to Afghan students, including 600 female students. This exemplifies India’s strategy: strictness against terrorism and flexibility in humanitarian aid.
This means that the international community will no longer easily tolerate the Taliban. Afghanistan must adopt a new path. When India’s Ambassador delivered this statement at the UN, the message reverberated throughout the entire assembly that India is serious about terrorism and that on the Kashmir issue, India is not alone but is moving forward with Afghanistan. India’s voice is no longer confined to Asia but echoes before 193 nations.
Indeed, this entire game is a diplomatic masterstroke. India has directly conveyed to the Taliban that their silence or cooperation on Kashmir will be crucial. Simultaneously, India has also given the Afghan people a significant assurance that India will stand by them every step of the way, no matter what crisis they face. In this manner, India has cornered Pakistan, warned the Taliban, and gained the support of the Afghan people in one strategic move. India’s declaration against the Taliban before 193 nations and Afghanistan’s stance with India on the Kashmir issue – this is the true picture.
