Wally Hammond set this record in 1946, scoring 69 runs against India in a Test match at Old Trafford, Manchester, at the age of 43 years and 31 days. Additionally, Australia’s Bob Simpson is also on the list of oldest players to score a half-century against India, achieving this feat at 41 years and 359 days old in Adelaide in 1978.
